Rowe & Associates to Join Malu

A word from Joseph and Clare
Joseph Healy (Co-Founder & CEO Malu):
"We are delighted to welcome the team at Rowe & Associates Child & Family Psychology into the Malu network. A highly respected psychology practice in South Hurstville, Rowe & Associates has been supporting individuals and families for many years. Their team of experienced clinicians will continue providing high-quality care, now with the added resources and support of Malu. Together, we look forward to expanding access to mental health services and strengthening our commitment to exceptional outcomes for clients."
Clare Rowe (Rowe & Associates):
"After fifteen years of leading Rowe & Associates Child & Family Psychology, I’ve made the decision to join forces with Malu Health. It’s a decision grounded not in necessity, but in vision: a belief that we can, and must, reimagine how mental health care is delivered in Australia.
For too long, private practice psychology has existed in silos. Clinicians work tirelessly behind closed doors, often in isolation, carrying the weight of complex cases with little systemic support. The result is a workforce stretched thin, and a sector that continues to lose talented clinicians to burnout, disillusionment, and sheer exhaustion. The system is broken - and the people who suffer most are our clients.
Part of the problem lies in the impossible number of hats private practice owners are expected to wear. We don’t just provide therapy. We are also the HR department, the bookkeeper, the marketing team, the IT support, the recruiter, and the compliance officer.
Every clinician who has run their own practice knows what it feels like to spend hours late at night chasing invoices, troubleshooting software, or sifting through resumes, tasks that slowly chip away at the very passion that drew us to psychology in the first place: helping people. Over time, those competing demands pull us further away from our clinical work and closer towards burnout.
Malu Health was created with a simple but powerful premise: that there is a better way forward. What drew me to Malu was not just their passion for improving mental health care, but their commitment to building the infrastructure and culture that makes sustainable practice possible.
At the heart of Malu is a belief that clinicians deserve the same care and investment that they pour into others. That means:
Ongoing education and upskilling, so psychologists remain at the cutting edge of evidence-based practice.
A strong, supportive culture, where clinicians feel connected and valued, rather than isolated.
The infrastructure to scale, so that the business of running a practice doesn’t detract from the heart of the work - helping clients.
This isn’t just about lightening the administrative load, though that matters. It’s about creating an environment where clinicians can thrive, and where their wellbeing directly translates into better outcomes for the families and individuals who walk through our doors.
For Rowe & Associates, this partnership means continuity for our clients - the same trusted clinicians, the same warm welcome at our clinic, combined with the added strength of being part of a national network. For me personally, it means joining a movement that’s bigger than any one practice: a collective push to repair a fragmented system, support our workforce, and ensure that mental health care in Australia is fit for the next generation.
To other practice owners, I would say this: we don’t have to do it alone. There is enormous value in partnership, in stepping out of the silos and into a community of shared knowledge, support, and vision. Malu represents that opportunity. And after fifteen years of building Rowe & Associates, I am proud that we are now part of that story."
